Hello everybody,
Happy Easter season! Romans 10:9 - If you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
I had my two month scans in February and they showed no new growth and no new spreading of cancer. Which means the chemo that I am doing is working. So that is a blessing!
As I am writing this I can’t believe two months have gone by, because I have new scans again this Friday April 1st. Results read April 5th with my chemo appt.
Please continue to pray that the scans show no new growth or spreading.
The Dr’s have decided to cut my chemo treatments to twice a month instead of three. This seems to be working, It gives my body more time to recover in between treatments. Even though this chemo is different from last year it still takes me about a week to recover.
I am now dealing with some pain under my right rib cage, along with my pain I have had consistently in my abdomen. So Tuesday I am seeing a Dr. that specializes in the GI tract area. They think it is caused by the original cancerous cyst on my pancreas. So please pray they may find the root cause. I am also doing acupuncture twice a month, to help me with my neuropathy in my hands and feet. I don’t really think it's working, but it helps me relax. I have been taking this disease one day at a time. I still have good days and bad days.
Last month, I got to travel with Dave, Steve and Kim, on one of their work trips to Palm Springs to a collegiate softball tournament. I helped work the tournament for a couple of days, then stayed behind in the hotel room that overlooked the mountain scenery outside our balcony. Now that was great restful therapy. Thank you to my sister in-law Carla for taking wonderful care of our golden retriever Autumn, who has brain cancer and is getting sicker by the week. So please also pray for her too, the Vet says we will know when it is time. Keep Dave in your prayers because he has two cancer patients to take care of. He never complains, he is the best husband ever!
Dave has been reading to me daily a small book I found while cleaning out my mother’s desk. It's called “Jesus Today” by Sarah Young. It’s one of the best books we have ever read. It Talks to us!!! It gives us hope, and courage to keep on fighting. It also reminds us God is in charge and that includes navigating through all the treatment I am going through. We believe she left it for me to find, to help us through my cancer journey. My mother Faith taught Bible Study for over 40 years. She was the best prayer warrior ever, and her name was so perfect for her. She is still working from heaven. Thanks Mom! Jesus said, someday you will be able to see my brilliance in all its glory, and you will experience unimaginable joy. For now, though, you must live by faith and not by sight.
Thank you again for all your prayers and support - I love you Amy
What a sweet thought of you both reading Jesus Today! Love to you both
Amen Sister in Christ! God has surely blessed us all! Continued prayers for you!
Hi Cousin! Praise Jesus your cancer is so far contained. Praying for your healing, for the pain under your rib cage and abdomen and for wisdom, skill and accuracy of every health care provider who treats you, especially the gastro team. Love that your Mom left the Jesus Today for you. Smiles from heaven. Prayed for Autumn. Our pets have a special place in our hearts and I believe we will see them again in heaven. Special prayers for you and Dave, for courage and strength and rest!
Love and hugs always,
Laura
