First of all Ted and I always have you and your family in our prayers. Sometimes I can be in my own little world and then I remember your slogan "be selfless". You always inspire me to be a better person.
Well, a few little things that I have done. I helped a friend, Marcia, Liz's daughter from work post an ad in Marketplace for Liz's collection of Avon Ruby dishes. We had a lot of technical difficulties but eventually got all 102 pieces up and listed. Next up will be her bell collection.
Ted & I also had an opportunity to do a pay it forward. This was really pay it forward because it was the person in front of us. It was while we were on vacation in Joseph Oregon. The computers were down in this one shop so you could not pay with a credit card. He was purchasing some coffee and breakfast roll and did not have the cash. So it was the perfect opportunity. 😀 We would like to start doing this more often.
We have gotten involved with our neighborhood by volunteering. We moved here to Charbonneau a little over 3 years ago. Since the pool area and club house had virtually been unused over Covid and was opening up this year Ted and I and another couple spent a day cleaning the whole area up. Pressure washing everything, cleaning the grill (boy was that gross - don't think that had been done in quite some time), window cleaning and carpet cleaning. It felt good to have it all sparkling clean and ready for the summer.
We also volunteered to be on the board. Ted is what you call 'the lamp lighter'. Kind of a funny job but he goes around and replaces any burnt out bulbs that are on the garage. There are about 63 homes. I am what we call 'the Cabana Lady'. I keep a calendar up in the entrance and if someone wants to use the facility they sign up and I help with letting them know what needs to be done and provide them with key. I make sure it stays in good order. It was so hot this summer we were having a problem with the air conditioning turning on once and I figured out the control on the wall just needed a new battery :-)
Thanks for being such a beacon of hope and inspiration through your tough journey Amy. You make a difference in this world and we are blessed to know you.
Love, T & G
